Choose between face-grain, edge-grain or end-grain (butcher block) styles.
So, What's the Difference?
Not all cutting boards are created equal — and the grain makes all the difference. Face grain boards showcase the wide, flat surface of the wood, highlighting its natural figure and beauty, making them stunning display pieces. Edge grain boards are cut along the length of the plank, exposing the side of the wood fibers — they're harder, more resistant to knife marks, and a workhorse in the kitchen. End grain boards are the gold standard for serious cooks: cut across the wood fibers, they allow knife blades to slip between the fibers rather than across them, self-healing with use and staying sharper longer — all while being the most visually striking of the three.
